Live At Win Star (2010)

This is another audience recording from the current Mumbo Jumbo tour, recorded at Win Star Casino in Oklahoma. This is a very nice recording featuring all the classic hits and a nice mix of songs from the new album, probably my favorite of the Mumbo Jumbo bootlegs currently available. Highlights of the show for me are The Power Of Love, Mumbo Jumbo, Me Like You and Just As I Am.

Live From Nowhere (1995)

This is a very good audience recording from the News From Nowhere tour. The show opens with acoustic renditions of Lost In Love and Here I Am and offers excellent versions of The Vanishing Race, Someone and Don't Be Afraid. Unchained Melody is simply incredible. For quite some time after I got this show, I didn't listen to it. I've always preferred the sound when they toured with a fuller band and this was the first tour as a stripped down five man unit without lead guitar. I have to admit, when I finally got around to giving it a fair listen, I really came to love this performance.

Live In Charlotte (1985)

Considering this is a 25-year-old audience recording, this 1985 show from Charlotte, North Carolina offers surprisingly good sound. As with the entire tour, the setlist is great and the band is in excellent form. There's a moment of "drop-out" during Don't Be Afraid (probably the taper switching sides on his tape as this was originally recorded on a 90 minute cassette) but overall it's a really nice bootleg. Highlights are When The Time Is Right, a killer version of Just As I Am, the great Don Cromwell composition I Can't Stay Away and a hilarious comment from Russell that he'd "never seen so many wet women before." It was a rainy day and an outdoor show.

Live In Tokyo (2002)

The sound quality of this recording from a 2002 Tokyo performance is exceptional, considering it is from an audience tape. There is another version of this show floating around but the sound on that recording is quite muffled. This is either from another source recording or a remastered version of the same source. This show, while recorded at a time when Russell was having voice troubles, finds him in pretty good form, though I did notice the heavy use of a reverb effect on his vocals to give them some lift. Highlights are an excellent version of Chances opening the show, a poetry reading from Graham and the tracks from Yours Truly, which is my least favorite Air Supply album, but the tracks come across nicely in concert.

Live In Atlantic City (2008)

This is a really nice audience recording from Atlantic City, April 12th 2008. Highlights for me are the Sweet Dreams/Young Love medly, though I'd really like to hear Young Love in it's entirety, and a beautiful rendition of I Want To Give It All.

Live In Florida (1989)

In 1989, Air Supply was touring without a current album to promote. This show from Florida features a killer setlist, though I was a little surprised to see that ther most recent album, 1987's Hearts In Motion, was completely ignored. On the other hand, there are several tracks that would appear two years later on The Earth Is. In fact, in the bones of this setlist you can find the structure of the standard The Earth Is tour shows coming into place. The sound on this one is somewhat heavy on the treble-end but it is still a superior remaster of the original tape, which was extremely muffled and muddy to the point of being unlistenable. Highlights of this show are Two Less Lonely People In The World in it's original album arrangement, Great Pioneer and the underrated and underplayed classic My Best Friend from the Lost In Love album.

Live In Chester (2010)

I've noticed with the release of Mumbo Jumbo that Air Supply shows are being more actively recorded. I can't recall another tour where concert recordings were available so soon after the performance. In the realm of bootlegged artists, Air Supply seems to have been under-recorded in comparison to a lot of other acts. I think their new status as somewhat the elder statesmen of romantic pop rock, tapers are taking their live show a little more seriously. I hope this bodes well for the availability of future recordings. This show, recorded from the audience in Chester, PA, suffers from a "distance" in the sound quality but it will be of interest to fans and the sound isn't too bad overall...just turn up the volume. This one is on my list of shows to remaster, in hopes of drawing the sound out some, but in the meantime here's the original recording.

Live In Westbury (1984)

Another great setlist from the 1984/85 world tour. Though this show was recorded from an FM broadcast, the sound of the original source was pretty muddy. This is a remaster of that original source with much-improved sound. Highlights of this show are the performanecs of Take Me Home Again, from the film Grandview U.S.A. and a beautiful I Can't Let Go.

Rare Songs Live (Compilation)

This compilation features some of the rare songs that Air Supply has performed in concert. Being that it is compiled from various audience recordings, the sound quality of the tracks varies from decent to very good. The fluctuation in quality is a small price to pay to hear some of these rare songs. Some of these songs really should have been released as album tracks...My Life, Your Touch, Let's Talk About Love come to mind. It's also nice to hear the live version of The River Cried from Russell's first solo album and a couple tracks from Graham's Heart Of The Rose rock opera.

Live At The Budokan (1984)

The 1984/85 world tour was incredible, the setlists were just amazing. I saw several shows on this tour and they remain among my favorite Air Supply concerts. They had changed the line-up of the band and though it was sad to see some of the members depart, the new line-up brought some new textures to the traditional Air Supply sound. Touring behind the soon-to-be released self-titled album, they had a lot of new songs to play and Russell's voice was in prime form. He sounds incredible on this recording, an FM simulcast from the legendary Budokan arena in Tokyo. What stands out here is the song selection, not just the hits but the surprising number of un-released songs performed. This concert features seven songs that were un-released at the time, several of them actualy remain unreleased to this day. You also get outstanding live versions of I Can Wait Forever, Making Love Out Of Nothing At All and the excellent I'll never Get Enough Of You, which was a hit in Japan but never released as a single in the United States.

Live At Vina del Mar (1987) - Video

In 1987, as their American popularity was on the decline but their global fame was still rising, Air Supply was invited to perform at the prestigious Festival de Vina del Mar in Chile. The group's popularity in South America was incredible and fans were treated to a great live performance, a portion of which was also broadcast on Chilean television. This is the video of the braodcast, an audio rip will follow shortly for download.

Live In Hawaii (1982) - Audio

Televised on HBO in 1982, this performance from Hawaii was Air Supply's first official concert video release. The Now And Forever tour featured a desert setting on the stage and laser effects that were state-of-the-art at the time. All of the big hits are featured in the show and there is some great interaction between Graham & Russell and the audience. The video became a collector's item for fans and remains the only video representation of Air Supply's live show at the peak of their fame. This audio rip is taken from the original DVD of the show. For those of you seeking the video of this concert, I'll be getting to that soon and you'll be able to download it in AVI format.

Live In Cleveland (1982)

This show is simply stunning. Recorded live on the Now And Forever tour and broadcast throughout North America on FM radio, this performance in Cleveland features all of the band's biggest hits of the day highlighting a concert full of audience favorites. Though the singles from Now And Forever didn't fare as well on the charts as their previous releases. Air Supply still scored a top ten hit with Even The Nights Are Better and a pair of top fourty singles in Young Love and Two Less Lonely People In The World. The title track remains one of the penultimate fan favorites and they continued to sell out concert halls around the world. This would be the last tour to feature the seven musicians who recorded The One That you Love and Now And Forever.

One Night Of Love (1981)

This excellent FM simulcast recording from the 1981 tour supporting the smash album The One That You Love captures Air Supply at the height of their popularity in America. Riding high on the success of their first American album, Lost In Love and it's three top five singles, the title track, All Out Of Love and Every Woman In The World, Air Supply continued their meteoric flight to the top of the charts with an equally impressive follow-up. Featuring some of the band's best-loved songs and boasting another three top five charting singles, The One That You Love, and the 1981 world tour, cemented Air Supply's reputation as the top melodic pop rock act of the time.
